Ever Wonder Why Americans Call Central European Countries, Eastern Europe? Well, here we try to explain why Americans are stuck in the 1980s. The cold war and the east versus west mentality still shows up even in guidebooks that show Poland and Czech Republic as Eastern Europe. So, just make sure you realize that Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary are CENTRAL Europe, not Eastern Europe.
