Norway is home to an endless number of incredibly scenic hiking locations. Trolltunga is one of the more famous ones.
We took a trip there in late September despite warnings from the official guide that hikers should be very cautious during the period from September 15th-October 15th. Fortunately for us, the weather cooperated and we only had to deal with some wind and cold.
That wasn't the case on the return trip in mid-October, where extreme weather conditions required taking refuge in the emergency shelter. Come back next week for Trolltunga part 2 to find out how that turned out!
